From the looks of it, it seems that the 6’4 Dutch defender has quite the personality to make his way into Hollywood if he ever decides to pursue a career in show-business after hanging his boots. The trailer for the new season of Netflix’s ‘Undercover’ series actually features the Dutchman, and this has left fans absolutely shell shocked.
Easily one of the best centre-backs in not just the Premier League but in the world, Virgil Van Dijk can be seen acting in the trailer of the series that is now looking to come out with its third season very soon.

Undercover’s new trailer shows Van Dijk playing his regular self with the captain of the Netherlands National team being graced with an ample amount of screen-time. In the trailer, you can see Van Dijk getting into a heated argument of sorts with the other actors from the series. They can all be heard conversing in Dutch, naturally because the series is set in Belgium, Netherlands.
You would think that Van Dijk would be the guy who would normally intimidate people with his massive size and strength as seen on full display on the football pitch. But the opposite is happening in the trailer where we get a glimpse of the Dutchman actually on the receiving end of a punch to the face and a harsh kick to his leg.
Currently we do not know the underlying reason behind Van Dijk’s involvement in the production. Is he actually going to star in the series or was this done solely for promotional purposes? We really don’t know. What we do know however is that the trailer has sparked a lot of talk and buzz ahead of the release of the new season of the crime/drama series.

Plot And Story
After the events of season 2, a court case and a possible prison sentence are looming over ex-cop Bob. Ferry is released from prison but finds out that his position at the top of the XTC-world is taken over by a new, stronger and more intelligent gang, which is led by the Dutch-Turkish married couple Serkan and Leyla Bulut. When a young undercover agent is murdered, the police realise that they have a mole in their midst.
Patrick Diericks makes Bob an offer: he can make his court case disappear if Bob goes undercover again and can unmask the traitor inside Serkan’s gang as a civilian infiltrator. Bob reluctantly takes on this life-threatening mission in order to get his life back on the rails and to secure a future with his new family. But then he encounters Ferry Bouman.

Netflix and VRT have collaborated to put together the 3rd season of ‘Undercover. In addition to the previous 2 seasons, a feature film named “Ferry” was released on May 14th which happens to be very much connected to the events of the series. ‘Undercover’ happens to be the only Belgian series to be nominated for the 2018 Canneseries Festival.
