Mantic Games officially launched a Kickstarter for this game in March. But it was quickly cancelled after only a few days.
Players select a member of the Umbrella Academy in The Umbrella Academy: The Board Game. Each with its own set of powers and abilities.
Players work together with their siblings to avert the apocalypse by travelling. To different areas to gather advantage cards and put battle tokens that change abilities.
The gamer will eventually reach the Final Battle. Where they will face whichever supervillain is attempting to destroy the world throughout the quest.
When Will The Umbrella Academy Board Game Be Available?
If players defeat the villain, they win the game; however, if they fail to clear sufficient hazards from the board or die while facing the villain, they lose. Each villain has its unique twists and obstacles, which adds to the game’s replayability.
The first game released by Mantic Games’ new dedicated tabletop branch is Board Game.
Games by Mantic has previously released various board games, including Hellboy: The Board Game. Mantic has established a new branch dedicated to the publication and support of tabletop board games.
Mantic Games, the publisher of the critically successful Hellboy: The Board Game, collaborated with River Horse Games’ renowned game designers Alessio Cavatore & Jack Caesar.
Best-selling board games such as Pacific Rim: Extinction and Labyrinth: The Adventure Game were created by this company.
