The makers of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby – Road to the Top have announced the release date of episode 2 as they said next episode of the series will be dropping on our screens soon
Umamusume: Pretty Derby’s first episode is a promising start to the ONA series. Top Road, Ayabe, and Opera are three horse girls featured in the show, each with their own design and personality. A new trainer and race commentator also bring a new perspective to the show. The animation is breathtaking, with noticeable improvements in the art style and race visuals.

Among the episode’s many noteworthy aspects is the attention to detail in character writing, which remains excellent. The episode also contains intriguing world-building elements, such as glimpses of elderly horsewomen and the possibility of horse girls having human fathers. By including small details like tail brushing in the lives of the characters, they become more than just horses.
In addition to the catchy OP, Masahiro Yamamoto’s commentary adds authenticity to the show, given his background as a former NPB pitcher and horse racing fan. Even though the plot is still being developed, the episode nicely establishes the characters and their goals.
