The official Twitter page of Ukraine Ministry of Defence got into trouble when it posted an image of the Hindu deity Kali Maa that was offensive
The artwork, which showed Kali in a “upskirt moment” like Marilyn Monroe, was criticised by people on social media who said the ministry was making fun of Hindu religious beliefs.
The trouble started when the Hindu deity Kali art was shared on the ministry’s official Twitter page on Sunday. The post was called “Work of art,” and it had a picture of the goddess Kali in her usual “tongue out” pose, with blue skin and a wreath of skulls around her head. The government later deleted the tweet, but not before it made people angry online.

Many people on social media were shocked that Ukraine’s Defence Ministry’s official Twitter account made fun of Hindu deity Kali for no reason. One user tweeted, “Shame on you for making such cartoons and insulting our faith! Utterly disgusting attempt,” while another wrote, “Utterly shameful that an arm of the national government is indulging in such insensitive activities. You will lose whatever little credibility you have. Utterly shameful conduct.”
Social media users call for apology over Tweet on Hindu deity Kali
One Sudhanshu Singh wrote, “I am absolutely appalled to see the Ukrainian defense handle mocking Maa Kali, a revered Hindu goddess. This is a gross display of insensitivity and ignorance. I urge them to take down the offensive content and issue an apology. Respect for all religions and beliefs is paramount.”

Another user called upon Twitter support to intervene for mocking religious sentiments on Hindu Deity Kali. “Officially this must be condemned and strict action taken against this person/institution,” he said.

Controversial Hindu deity Kali Tweet by sparks debate on cultural sensitivity
