While his opponent went 4-0 ahead with a top break of 137 in the first four frames, China’s Zhou only potted two reds. Zhou had a chance to get one back in frame five, but he missed a red to the center pocket on 63 break, and O’Sullivan won with 82 break. And when Ronnie O’Sullivan scored 103 break to win the match, the Barbican crowd cheered once more. To advance to the quarterfinals of this competition for the second time, Tom Ford defeated Luca Brecel 6-3 in the other second-round match of afternoon session.

After winning two qualifying matches to earn spot in the main tournament at Barbican, Craigie defeated the reigning champion Zhao Xintong in first-round. Now in second-round, he defeated reigning Cazoo British Open champion Ryan Day by score of 6-4. Mark Allen, who defeated Kyren Wilson 6-3, will be Craigie’s quarterfinal opponent on Friday. Craigie scored three centuries tonight—103, 130, and 103—giving him 4-2 advantage. Later, Day produced runs of 52 and 112 to pull even at 4-4, but Craigie won frame nine with runs of 41 and 36 and sealed the victory in frame 10 with 77 break.

Prize Money Pool Distribution at 2022 UK Championships

The prize fund for 2022 UK Championships has grown from £1,009,000 to £1,205,0000, and the champion will now get $250,000 rather than £200,000 in cash. Meanwhile, tournament’s runner-up will receive monetary prize of £100,000, and the semi-final losers will only receive £50,000. Zhou Yuelong and Kyren Wilson will each receive $15,000 in prize money after being eliminated in the second-round.
