2022 UK Championship Qualifying Stage Results, Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, Format, Main Event Draw & List of Players

Jimmy White defeated Dominic Dale 6-1 in the fourth and final qualifying round, dubbed Judgement Day, to advance to the round of 32 stage in ranking event for the first time since 2010. Meanwhile, Duane Jones overcame Jamie Clarke’s 5-0 advantage by winning three straight frames before Clarke eventually won the match 6-3. By the same margin, Ford defeated Noppon Saengkham, scoring two century and three half-centuries during the contest. With breaks of 126, 63, 75, and 57 against the 19-year-old Chinese player Wu Yize, Stevens took the first four frames, but Wu then won the next five games to take the lead. Stevens forced a decision with a 91 break in the tenth round, though, and he won it with a 58 break.

Till the mid-session break, Hossein Vafaei of Iran led Robbie Williams 3-1 after making breaks of 127 and 111. Williams cut Vafaei’s advantage to one frame at 5-4, but Vafaei sealed a 6-4 victory in the tenth frame. Zhou defeated Jak Jones 6-3 thanks to breaks of 78, 117, 84, and 72. Elsewhere, Andy Hicks lost his cool during his match with Lyu Haotian and used a break-off shot to rip the red pack apart as Lyu won 6-1 and advanced to main tournament.

The 2022 event is the 46th iteration of the UK Championship, which debuted in 1977 as the United Kingdom Professional Snooker Championship. This upcoming event will be the fifth ranking event and the first Triple Crown competition of 2022–23 snooker season. Thursday is the draw for 2022 Cazoo UK Championship’s main round, in which the top 16 seeds will be matched against the 16 qualifiers at random.

Prize Money Pool Distribution at 2022 UK Championships

The prize pool for this competition has increased to £1,205,0000 from £1,009,000 of previous edition, with the winner taking home £250,000 instead of £200,000. While semi-final losers will only receive £50,000 in prize money, the tournament’s runner-up will receive £100,000 in cash. After their failure to qualify for main tournament and elimination in Round of 48, Robbie Williams and Wu Yize will both return home with £7,500 each.
