The Spring Football League, which was created by the merger of the XFL and USFL has marked a new era in football outside of the NFL.
The UFL playoff semifinals for 2024 took place this past week. On Sunday, June 16, after eleven weeks of football action, the two finalists will face off in the tournament championship game for the trophy.
The Birmingham Stallions defeated the Michigan Panthers 31–18 in the USFL Conference championship game on Saturday. Meanwhile, the San Antonio Brahmas defeated the St. Louis Battlehawks 25–15 in the UFL Conference championship game on Sunday.

In 2024, the Stallions and Brahmas will compete for the UFL championship at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Meanwhile, the primary attraction of the USFL and XFL was the chance for players to be signed by the NFL.

How much do the NFL players get paid?
- Minimum salary of a player: $795,000
- Minimum salary of a player in practice squad: $12,000 per week

How much do the USFL players get paid?
Players in the USFL reportedly earned $5,350 a week in addition to a housing stipend of $400 and a $5,000 championship bonus. Additional benefits can count to $26,000. Each week, inactive players would get $2,500.
How much do the XFL players get paid?
The XFL offered slightly less weekly income if you compare it to USFL. Players received $5,000 every week in payouts, with an extra $1,000 awarded for each victory. $20k was the projected value of the benefits package.
Nevertheless, it is reported that quarterbacks could be the most paid position in terms of salary and income. Pro Football Network reports that XFL quarterback salaries range from $200,000 to $400,000.
