UFC Vegas 58 Full Fight Card Winner And Results
As the UFC lightweight contender continued his winning streak on Saturday night, Rafael Fiziev moved up the rankings. In the main event of UFC on ESPN 39, Fiziev knocked out former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. The fifth round was officially stopped after 18 seconds. Despite the close contest between the fighters, Fiziev appeared to have the advantage for the majority duration of the bout.
Dos Anjos attempted to take down Fiziev in each of the first three rounds but was unable. Although it was difficult for the former champion to subdue Fiziev, he did occasionally succeed in keeping him under control while he was up against the cage. Fiziev, though, appeared to connect better and control the battle more when it was taking place on the feet.
Dos Anjos looked noticeably improved in round four. He appeared to be more active on the floor and made the round’s cleaner shots. Additionally, he secured a clean takedown and gained control of Fiziev. Sadly for dos Anjos, his winning streak suddenly came to an end at the start of the fifth round. With a left hook that downed the Brazilian, Fiziev dropped him and then fired off a couple shots to end the fight.
