Notably, UFC Nashville will be the sixth UFC event in Nashville since UFC’s beginning and first since UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Pettis in March 2019. The main event was supposed to be a bantamweight fight between Umar Nurmagomedov and former interim UFC Bantamweight Championship challenger Cory Sandhagen. However, Nurmagomedov pulled out of the competition in the middle of July because of a shoulder issue and as a result, it has been confirmed that Rob Font will replace Nurmagomedov as the opponent of Sandhagen.

Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba were slated to compete in a women’s strawweight match in The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs. Team Cláudia. On June 20, it was revealed that Jandiroba had to withdraw due to a knee injury, and former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Jéssica Andrade took her place. In another scheduled fight of UFC Nashville, Dustin Jacoby will clash against Kennedy Nzechukwu in a featherweight division contest.
