UFC 295 full fight card results, main event winner, & bonus award winners
Pereira caused significant damage leading up to the finish, primarily using a series of powerful kicks that resulted in swelling on Prochazka’s leg. Despite Prochazka briefly finding success with a takedown and ground-and-pound, Pereira managed to scramble back to his feet by the end of the first round. As the second round began, Prochazka appeared ready to challenge Pereira on the feet, landing clean punches.
However, Pereira responded with a well-timed left hook that dropped Prochazka to the canvas, setting the stage for the finishing sequence. Pereira, now the ninth two-division champion in UFC history, unleashed a series of elbows that led to the stoppage. Replays suggested a quick recovery by Prochazka, but Pereira defended the stoppage, despite lingering questions about Goddard’s decision. Prochazka, however, made no complaints about the loss.
After the victory, Pereira shifted his focus to renewing his rivalry with Israel Adesanya in the light heavyweight division. Expressing eagerness for the Adesanya bout, Pereira also acknowledged former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill, who was ringside, aiming to reclaim the title he relinquished due to a torn Achilles’ tendon.
