Adesanya had a difficult night after he lost the UFC middleweight championship to Sean Strickland in the main event by majority decision. Adesanya was knocked down in the first round, which could have easily resulted in a stoppage, but he battled back to complete all five rounds.

Although Israel Adesanya will be devastated after losing the UFC 293 main-event, he will walk away with net payout of $3.54 Million including $1 Million as confirmed purse and $2.5 Million from PPV Share. Meanwhile, the new middleweight champion Sean Strickland will receive payout of $1,530,000 including PPV Bonus of $850,000. Elsewhere, co-main event winner Alexander Volkov will bag net payout of $1,020,000 including win bonus of $100,000 and PPV Bonus worth $500,000.

UFC 293 full fight card winner and results
Although Sean Strickland wasn’t even scheduled to compete at UFC 293 initially, he was given the chance to fight against Adesanya as a result of Dricus Du Plessis’ foot injury. Strickland was a huge underdog going into the fight and many fans thought of him as a sacrifice lamb. However, Strickland knocked down Adesanya in the first round and kept attacked the defending champion relentlessly for the next 25 minutes, eventually winning by unanimous decision thanks to his practically faultless execution.
All three judges gave the final score a unanimous 49-46, making Strickland the new UFC middleweight champion. Even though the odds were stacked against him, Strickland never once appeared to be outmatched or outgunned by Adesanya, and that confidence paid off handsomely throughout the contest. Adesanya was content to sit back and circle the cage, aiming to build up his counterpunches, while Strickland was on the hunt from the moment the fight began. Adesanya continued to throw punches without any concern for retaliation until Strickland forced him against the cage and then unleashed a devastating right hand.
