Following a convincing victory over Irene Aldana at UFC 289, UFC star Amanda Nunes has declared her retirement. The 35-year-old is the only woman to have held two titles in the organization and is widely recognized as the finest women’s mixed martial artist ever. She declared it to be her final fight after winning at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, and laid down her two belts in the middle of the canvas.

On Saturday, bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, who triumphed in the UFC 289 main event, reportedly earned a total of $1,300,000 from her basic salary, pay-per-view shares, & sponsorship agreements. Irene Aldana got a total payment of $782,000 despite losing the main event. Charles Oliveira and Mike Malott were awarded the $50,000 Performance of the Night prize for their great performances.

UFC 289 full fight card winner and results
After the main event of UFC 288, UFC’s only reigning two-division champion made her retirement announcement. Amanda Nunes did it triumphantly, having completed another faultless title defense. For her final bout, Nunes crushed Irene Aldana to earn a landslide unanimous decision and record the sixth defense of her bantamweight title across her two reigns. Nunes won the fight by unanimous decision from all three judges, who scored the bout 50-44, 50-44, 50-43 in Amanda’s favor.
At UFC 289. Charles Oliveira knocked out Beneil Dariush in the first round, giving him finish number 20 and increasing his record for most finishes in UFC history. Following the fight, the former UFC lightweight champion declared that he would like to challenge Islam Makhachev for the title. At UFC 280 this past October, Oliveira was defeated by Makhachev in a match for a vacant title.
