UFC 286 payouts, purse and salaries of Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman

UFC 286 will take place this weekend and fans are eager to fight out the fight purses and payouts of the two main event fighters Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman, and other fighters

The PPV event, which will take place inside the O2 Arena in London will go live on March 18.

UFC 286 Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman

Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman will fight in the welterweight division and will certainly be an exciting one to watch. Both fighters have previously won 1 fight each in their previous two bouts. Going into the bout, Usman has a the slight upper hand although Edwards is the reigning champ.

However, fans could see a shocker again as the Nigerian Nightmare was also heavily tipped to win at UFC 278 as well. In fact, Usman was just a few seconds away from perhaps winning his record 16th consecutive UFC fight. However, Edwards landed a famous head kick, which folded Usman handing Leon with a historic win.

Following the win, Rocky became just the second UK-based champion in UFC history. The upcoming fight will be Leon’s first title defense in his home country, and will surely bring in many fans.

Besides, the main event, the co-main event will feature a lightweight division fight between Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev. Meanwhile, in the third main card fight, Conor McGregor’s teammate Gunnar Nelson will fight Bryan Barberena. Jennifer Maia, the former women’s flyweight title contender will go up against Casey O’Neil. In another fight, former middleweight contender Marvin Vettori will fight against Roman Dolidze.

Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards fight purses for UFC 286

Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards have a long history after first crossing paths in 2015. In their first fight, Usman and Edwards earned $26,500 and $17,500 respectively. However, their second fight at UFC 278, saw a huge rise in their fight purses.

Leon earned a staggering $432k after beating Kamaru. The purse included a guaranteed $350k fight purse, $32k in sponsorships, and $50k in post-fight bonus. Kamaru Usman, on the other hand, earned much higher with a guaranteed fight purse of $500k. Along with that, Usman earned a PPV bonus worth $400k, a post-fight bonus worth $20k, and a further sponsorship bonus worth $42,000. Altogether, Usman earned a massive total of $962K more than double Leon.

In the upcoming fight, Usman will earn a guaranteed fight purse of $532k, while the reigning champion Leon Edwards will earn a fight purse of $542,000. These figures however, do not include the PPV bonus for the champion.

UFC 286 other fighter purses

Besides Edwards and Usman, the co-main event fighters, Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev will earn $356k and $256k respectively. Meanwhile, welterweight fighter Gunnar Nelson will earn a fight purse worth $86k for the PPV event. His opponent Bryan Barberena on the other hand will earn $156k.

Jennifer Maia who will fight against Casey O’Neil will earn $81k, while O’Neill is expected to earn $30,500 fight purse. Roman Dolidze, a rising middleweight fighter is set to earn $56k while Italian fighter Marvin Vettori will earn  $91k.
