The official UFC 279 prize pool is yet unknown. However, it may be possible to have some idea of how much Diaz and Ferguson will make from UFC 279 by looking at previous earnings made by them. For his first match against McGregor, Diaz earned $620,000 and from second match, he earned $2.07 million. Diaz received $271,000 in compensation after his most recent match, a defeat against Edwards.

Both fighters were successful in the bout, with Diaz outboxing Ferguson, a fellow UFC veteran, and Ferguson pummeling his legs with kicks. Diaz had lost his previous two fights against Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal, and this victory was his first in more than three years. Following this match, Diaz is now a free agent after finishing his UFC contract.

UFC 279 Bonus Prizes and Fight of the Night
For his fourth-round submission victory over Tony Ferguson in tonight’s UFC 279 main event, Nate Diaz received an additional $50,000. In the meantime, Johnny Walker received an additional $50,000 for defeating Ion Cutelaba through submission in the first round.
