After his scheduled bout against Khamzat Chimaev was cancelled, Diaz, 37, submitted Ferguson with a guillotine choke in the penultimate contest of his UFC contract. Both fighters were successful in the bout, with Diaz outboxing Ferguson, a fellow UFC veteran, and Ferguson pummeling his legs with kicks. Diaz had lost his previous two fights against Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal, and this victory was his first in more than three years. Following this match, Diaz is now a free agent after finishing his UFC contract.

The main event at welterweight tonight was a good back-and-forth fight. ‘El Cucuy’ fought back in rounds two and three after Nate Diaz made a great start in the first. Following that, Diaz landed a flurry of punches in round four, forcing “El Cucuy” to scramble for a takedown. As soon as Nate applied a guillotine choke, the battle was finished.
