Throughout the bout, Prochazka had fantastic moments, displaying his signature unorthodox striking to dominate Teixeira. Teixeira, on the other hand, had a solution for every move Prochazka made, scoring takedowns and beating him on the ground.

Big Teixeira’s strikes left Prochazka with a nasty gash above his left eye, but every time Teixeira appeared to have taken control, Prochazka would find a way out of trouble and back to his feet. Not only was Prochazka surviving on the ground, but he was also the guy in control on the mat at times during the fight, landing his own thunderous ground-and-pound to draw blood from the Brazilian superstar.

The last round followed. With the fight appearing on the line, Teixeira took it to the ground and appeared to be in complete control until Prochazka was able to kick the cage off and reverse the position. At the 4:32 mark of Round 5, Prochazka noticed Teixeira’s exposed neck and locked in the rear-naked choke, pressing with everything he had to force the tap.
