The UEFA European Super Cup is an annual football match organised by the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations).
The competition features the two winners of Europe’s top club competitions: the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
This year’s event marks the 49th edition ever since its inception and will feature Spanish giants Real Madrid, who won the 2023–24 UCL, and Italian club Atalanta, who won the 2023–24 Europa League.
Last year, Manchester City emerged as the champions after beating Sevilla 5-4 on penalties.

The European Super Cup final is set to take place on Wednesday, 14 August. According to reports, the match start time is set at 9:00 p.m. CEST/12:30 a.m. Indian Standard Time (IST). The match can be watched on SonyLIV and the Sony Ten network in India.

The final match between the two winners of the Champions League and Europa League will take place at Warsaw’s National Stadium.
48,000 tickets out of 56,400 are available for the general public and the two teams. The tickets for the general public are being offered for sale to fans worldwide via UEFA.com/tickets and each successful applicant will be able to purchase up to four tickets in the allocated price category.

Real Madrid vs Atalanta preview
Notably, Real Madrid will be playing in the European Super Cup for the ninth time. They have previously won it on five occasions (2002, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2022). The Los Blancos entered the competition after beating German giants Borussia Dortmund in the final of the 2024 Champions League with goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior. Real previously won the La Liga 2023/2024 campaign after edging out against Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Atalanta will be playing the competition for the first time. The Italian giants secured their berth after beating Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final (3-0). Earlier in the season, Atalanta finished fourth in the Serie A points table.
