The Euro 2024 is finally set to enter its knockout rounds, beginning with the round of 16, check out all the tournament details below along with the schedule, teams and fixtures dates
The round of 16 will mark the start of the single-elimination knockout stages, where anything can happen.

Ahead of the start of the knockout rounds, the organizers have predetermined the matchup slots based on how they finish in their respective groups.

Euro 2024 Round of 16 teams and brackets
The upcoming round will feature two brackets with 4 teams. Both brackets will each produce a finalist to compete in the final match. The organizers have arranged the bracket based on the results of the group-stage action, which will conclude on June 26. Up until now, three teams have qualified for the first bracket of the Round of 16 bracket. Given below are the three qualified teams in the first bracket:
- Germany
- Spain
- Portugal
Meanwhile, the other bracket has so far had only one qualified nation, i.e. Switzerland
Euro 2024 Round of 16 format
The Round of 16 is the start of the knockout rounds, where every match is a single-match elimination. Teams will not earn any points or standings and only the winner will move on to the next round. All the matches of the round of 16 as well as the subsequent knockout-round matches will end with one winner.
As such, if the teams are tied after 90 minutes of regulation, the match will head into a 30-minute period of extra time. If the deadlock still persists after 30 minutes of extra time, the teams will then compete in a penalty shootout. The pairings for the round of 16 are set in advance, with teams that finish in first place in the group stage set to face off against the runners-up or the best third-place teams.
