Footballing career and honours

Dallas, Texas native Uche Nwaneri established himself at Purdue. During his time in college, Kentucky and Texas A&M were also considering hiring him. The Jaguars chose Nwaneri in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In his first season, he participated in the team’s playoff run but was inactive for both postseason games. He started as a regular starter for Jacksonville the following season.

He later participated in 102 games for the AFC South team. Nwaneri was the Jaguars’ starting guard, although they never made the playoffs. Nevertheless, up until he departed from the squad in 2014, the lineman remained a reliable outfielder.  The offensive lineman from Garland’s Naaman Forest High School, who stands 6-3 and weighs 310 pounds, spent seven seasons with the group.

After that, Nwaneri signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, however, he was unable to make their roster for that year. Later that year, he decided to end his football career.
