UCF Football Player Jake Hescock Cause Of Death, Age, Family, Stats

Jake Hescock played college football at both UCF and Wisconsin, know his cause of death

On Sunday, he died while jogging after having a heart attack. He was only 25 years old at the time.

Hescock had a heart attack while he was running around his Boston home. The Orlando Sentinel says that a citizen did CPR on Hescock before emergency workers got there to take him to a nearby hospital.

He was put on life support after getting a lot of damage to his brain, but he died anyway. Lisa Walz Mlynarczyk, who is Hescock’s cousin, wrote about the event on a Facebook page for UCF football fans:

“On Tuesday, December 6, Jake went for a run and passed out. He was given CPR, and since then he has been kept alive by a machine. We heard last night that the lack of oxygen has done a lot of damage to his brain,” his cousin wrote.

Others Pouring In Love

Wisconsin football shared a post on social media telling the Hescock family that they were in their thoughts and prayers. During his freshman year with the Badgers in 2016, he wore a red shirt instead of playing. He then moved to UCF.

UCF head coach Gus Malzahn also wrote a touching message on Twitter about Hescock. Hescock’s last season with the Golden Knights in Orlando was 2021, when he was coached by Malzahn.

Hescock grew up in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. During his time at UCF, he caught 21 passes and scored six touchdowns. During his last two seasons with the Golden Knights, he played in every game.
