Moeen is one of the marquee players that Johannesburg Super Kings (a sister franchise of CSK) signed to play in the CSA T20 league.
As such, Moeen Ali’s name comes as a big surprise as the CSA T20 League is scheduled to take place simultaneously with the UAE T20 league.
Moeen Ali In The Centre Of A Strange Situation
Sharjah Warriors are a team in the UAE T20 League. They are owned by Capri Global, an Indian corporate group. The team’s director is R Sridhar who was recently the fielding coach of the Indian cricket team.
The Warriors have attracted some big names ahead of the UAE T20 League, but Moeen’s name was totally unexpected. Following the reveal, a very strange situation has cropped up with Moeen Ali at the centre of it.
Considering all the facts, Moeen Ali has reportedly signed for two different teams to play in two different leagues which will take place simultaneously.
Kasi Viswanathan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CSK, commented on the Moeen situation, stating that CSK themselves are surprised to see Moeen’s name featuring in a squad of the UAE T20 league. Kasi further stated that they would approach Moeen about the situation.
Sharjah Warriors Sign Some Big Names
Keeping aside the Moeen Ali situation, Sharjah Warriors have roped in two other big England players – Dawid Malan and Chris Woakes. Both players are regular members of England’s white ball teams.
Some other England players from the county circuit are also included in the Warriors squad. Tom Kohler Cadmore who was a part of the Peshawar Zalmi squad in the last season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) also features in the Warriors squad.
