Troy Fiume does not appear on the field at all because he has no stats to his name.
As a result of his outstanding performance on the court, Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole secured a four-year, $140 million contract extension back in October. The 23-year-old has averaged 27.5 points on 51.3 per cent shooting, 3.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.5 3-pointers made per game (42.9 per cent) during his last four games. His season averages are 17.7 points and 4.6 assists per game.
The warriors’ defeat against Jazz leaves them in shock.
The Warriors came within seconds of putting these issues to rest but ultimately left Vivint Arena with a 124-123 defeat. With 13.3 seconds left, the Warriors had two empty possessions after grabbing the lead 123-119. With 4.3 seconds left, Nickeil Alexander-Walker stole the ball from Jordan Poole, and Simone Fontecchio used a fast break to score the game-winning basket for Utah.
Golden State (14-12) had its road record slip to 2-11 as Poole scored a season-high-tying 36 points, Jonathan Kuminga added a season-high 24 points, and Klay Thompson chipped in with 22 points. In addition, the defeat brought the Warriors’ record in contests decided by five points or fewer to 1-7.
Poole celebration gets going.
Poole’s offence kept the Warriors alive in the first half as the Jazz tried to establish home-court dominance, scoring 21 points and dishing out five assists before halftime. Although he slowed down in the second half as Utah shifted its defensive attention to him, Poole had already recorded his longest stretch of at least four games with at least 20 points this season with his fourth straight game with at least 20 points.
Poole scored 36 points on 10-of-23 shooting from the field, 4-of-11 from long range, and 12-of-13 at the free throw line. He also had eight assists, which was a club-high. Poole has gotten into the season and is playing his best basketball after a shaky first six weeks as the Warriors undoubtedly require it.
