What is CoTweet?
CoTweet is a feature that allows Twitter’s users to collaborate with others on the platform. To put it in simple words, you will be able to have a co-author for your tweet.
In an interview with TechCrunch, the spokesperson of Twitter said that this feature is being tested to see how brands and other people use it.
The spokesperson also said that social media has become a space for every influencer to collaborate with others. From there we get the idea. And we believe that this feature will help others to share their message easily.
Instagram also has a similar feature where two people can share the same post with the same caption.
How does CoTweet Work?
According to the outlet, people who are using this feature on their platform get a pop-up asking about if they would want to CoTweet. For this, a person has to post a tweet and he/she can send an invite to another person to come as a co-author for the same tweet.
If the other person accepts the invitation they both will appear, that is, when somebody else views the tweet, they will be able to see the name of both persons.
The brand has also gave the option of revoking their CoTweet which means if at any point any user feels that they do not want to relate to the tweet, they can revoke their name and the tweet will appear as a normal post made by the original owner.
Although this feature is not available for everyone. At the moment, only a few Twitter users in the United States, Canada, and Korea have access to this feature. Because right now, Twitter Is only testing this feature and it is quite possible that not all users will have access to it.
At the moment, the brand is trying to understand how other companies and individuals will make use of this feature. Which means there is a possibility that the feature may not come into existence if it doesn’t get a favorable response.
However, if it does get a positive response, Twitter may introduce this feature. Then there will be high chances that this feature will available for everyone.
