Trilegal partner Nisha Kaur Uberoi denies rumors of slapping associate

The leading law firm, Trilegal is making headlines after they refuted the claims of Nisha Kaur Uberoi purportedly slapping an associate

The legal firm which offers comprehensive legal services calls the claims of an alleged incident involving their Equity Partner and National Head of its Competition Law Practice, Nisha reportedly slapping an associate during a heated disagreement in the office as “malicious rumors.”

These claims originated after an anonymous post on a website a few weeks back and subsequently disseminated across various social media platforms including WhatsApp.

Some messages/claims circulated on online platforms even suggested that the law firm was attempting to suppress the heated disagreement incident.

Further to complicate the matter, a headline of a media report implied that the firm was engaged in damage control and later compensated the Associate with a 6-figure bonus following this alleged incident.

After learning about the aforementioned report, the Legal firm took to LinkedIn and denied the allegations of offering hush money to their junior associate involved in the incident.

The statement of the Trilegal reads “The firm firmly refutes these baseless rumors and stands united against them. There has been no formal or informal complaint regarding such an incident.

“No unauthorized payments were made to any associate for any purpose. These claims are entirely false, and the firm is pursuing legal avenues to address them. We are committed to seeing this process through until our innocence is proven.”

What Did Nisha Kaur Uberoi Say?

Nisha Kaur Uberoi also took to LinkedIn as she refuted the alleged incident or any involvement whatsoever. In her statement, Uberoi said, “As a first-generation lawyer, I emphasize my professionalism and reject the portrayal of myself as a helpless victim.”

She further added, “Employing tactics such as persistent trolling and fabrication of news, exemplified by the so-called ‘slapgate,’ whether for diversion or manipulation, is utterly unacceptable and will not go unchallenged.”

Uberoi continued, “I refuse to bear the burden of an event that never transpired. My upbringing instilled in me strength and resilience to confront adversity head-on.”

The law firm and Nisha, both have emphatically refuted the purported incident, asserting it never occurred. They have publicly announced their intent to pursue legal remedies available to them.
