Treesa Jolly has made a lot of headlines recently at the All England Badminton Championships 2022. The reason is that she along with her doubles partner, Pullela Gayatri Gopichand, made it into the semifinals of the tournament in the women’s doubles category.
With this tremendous run, the teenage pair inscribed history by dusting off 6th seed Greysa and Apriyani Rahayu of Indonesia following Poli’s injury and the pair had to withdraw. Moving ahead, the Indian pair came past their biggest test against 2nd seeded Lee Sohee and Shin Seungchang of Korea who were the silver medalists at the 2021 World Championships.

Treesa Jolly is currently34 in the BWF women doubles category with her badminton partner Gayatri Gopichand. They achieved this rank after the All England Open with the two jumping 12 points to record their career best ranking. Both are coached by former international Arun Vishnu.
At the BWF World Tour, Treesa has won one title and ended finalists twice. At Odisha Open this year, she along with Gopichand, defeated Indian pair Sanyogita Ghorpade and Shruti Mishra at the final and the Syed Modi International tournament, the pair were defeated in the final by Malaysian pair Anna Cheong and Teoh Mei Xing.
She also ended runner up at the mixed doubles of the Odisha Open pairing with Arjun M.R where the duo lost to Sri Lanka’s Sachin Dias and Thilini Hendahewa.
At the BWF International Series, Jolly with Gopichand won the India International Challenge title in 2021 defeating Indian pair Tanisha Crasto and Rutaparna Panda and in the same year, the duo finalised as runners-up at the Polish International and Welsh International losing to Margot Lambert and Anne Tran at both the tournaments.
