Social media users are discussing the possibility of Brianna Ghey murder being a hate crime after the late transgender teen’s friend came forward telling how she was bullied at school

For those who are unversed, let us tell you, the friend of Ghey’ revealed that the later teenager was “bullied for years,” because of her gender identity.

However, the authorities claims that there isn’t any evidence that Brianna’s murder was the result of a hate crime but public is of different opinion.

If you’re unaware about the incident, let us tell you, a 16-year-old trans girl, Brianna Ghey, was found stabbed to death in a park in Warrington on Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2023.

The incident came just 5 days after when she posted a video on the video-sharing platform TikTok revealing she had been “excluded from school.”

As of now it is believed that Brianna’s fatal stabbing was reportedly a targeted attack. Two other teenager, a 15-year-old girl and a boy have reportedly been arrest in connection with the murder and both are currently in the police custody.

If you’re wondering about Brianna’s friend statement, let us make it clear, the friend of deceased transgender took to social media and revealed that the 16-year-old had been bullied and gang beaten at the school premises for several years.

And this was happening with her for being trans. As per a report by DailyMail, one of her friends revealed to the outlet that “She had been bullied in school for years.”

While another friend told that those who were aware of her being bullying “refused to intervene’, the Sun reported. Meanwhile, in her video, a few days before her murder, Ghey, herself stated that she felt excluded in the school.

After learning about the claims and statement given by Ghey’s friends, the social media users are of the opinion that the teenager indeed was a victim of hate crime as many are sharing their thoughts and opinions.

One such user penned down, “Police say that the murder of Brianna Ghey was not a hate crime. Two of her peers have been arrested for her death after she was bullied in school.

“How was it not a hate crime? She was a child who’s life was taken from her because she was different. This is sickening.”
