Some athletes have already checked and settled into their Olympic village room in Tokyo, know about the apartments, beds and rooms
The Indian contingent for the Tokyo Olympics has started leaving for Japan for the Tokyo Olympics 2021 in batches. So let’s have a look at the rooms where legendary players like PV Sindhu and Mary Kom would be staying and also check out who their neighbors would be.
Tokyo Olympic 2020 village tour, rooms, apartments and beds of Indian athletes
A total of 182 rooms of the Olympics games village has been given to the Indian contingent. There are 28 towers in the Olympics village and the Indian contingent would be staying in tower 15. Three floors have been allotted to the Indian contingent in tower 15, i.e., 11th, 12th and 13th floor and all the players and officials would be staying their. Athletes from countries like South Africa, Denmark, Belgium, and Norway would be their neighbors.

Athletes like Mirabai Chanu, the Indian shooting team, Indian sailors and weightlifters have already checked in Tokyo Olympics village while the other half of the Indian contingent would be reaching Japan soon. There would be two single beds inside each of the 182 rooms allotted to the Indian contingent.
How the Tokyo Olympics village rooms would look like?
The beds on which the athletes would be sleeping are made up of cardboards and these beds can tolerate maximum 200kg of weight. The bedsheets, towels and cutlery which would be provided to the athletes would have the the words “Tokyo Olympics” written on it.
After the marquee event gets over, these beds would be recycled into paper products, and the mattresses would be reduced to plastic products.
Precautionary Covid measures for the Indian contingent at the games
The Indian contingent would try to stay as cautious as possible as two more athletes have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Olympics village. The first batch of the Indian contingent checked into the games village on Saturday and would be following all the COVID-19 protocols. But there is some respite for them as they don’t have to undergo a three-day isolation period when they reach the Olympics village.
The Indian contingent consist of 228 strong players, in which 119 are athletes.
