Milkins had a 5-3 edge after the first session and increased it to 6-3 with a 68-break in the first frame of the evening session. On the following frame, Murphy made close to 6-4 by making eight reds with blacks and missing the ninth red to the top corner. Murphy’s momentum increased as he won the following four frames to lead 8-6 thanks to his breaks of 64, 106, & 67.
Although Milkins managed to restore parity at 8-8 by winning the next two frames, Murphy bagged the 17th frame to reach within inches of victory. With his stellar play, Murphy managed a 128-run in the 18th frame and emerge victorious by the score of 10-8. With this statement victory against Wilkins, in-form Shaun Murphy has sealed his berth in the semi-final of the 2023 Duelbits Tour Championship, where he will face-off against the winner of Mark Selby vs Ryan Day.
