Top Venues And Stadiums To Look Out For This Tokyo Olympics 2021 Season

These Tokyo Olympics venues represents the structure of the modern state-of-the-art center and one of the stadium’s roof is quite similar to that of Mount Fuji

All the 43 venues for the Japan Olympics would be located in two mainย  areas i.e., the “Tokyo Bay Zone” Stadium and the “Heritage Zone” Stadium. The rules regarding COVID-19 protocols are also out with it being decided a total of 10,000 spectators are allowed and there are chances that these numbers would be reduced in the near future.

Just a month is left before the games begin, as the Olympic games are going to be held from July 23.

1. Tokyo Bay Zone

This venue is going to be used for both opening and closing ceremonies. Some athletic and football matches will also be held in this venue. This venue hold the seating capacity of 68,000 people. Zaha Hadid, who is an Iraqi-British architect, renovated this venue in 2015 after people protested against its $2 billion price tag. The reason why people protested against its price tag as because this could have made it the world’s most expensive stadium.

The cheaper version of this venue was inaugurated in December 2019. It was made into a five floor facility. The rooms were air conditioned so as to beat the scorching heat of Japanese summer. The ribbon- cutting ceremony for the Tokyo Olympics was held in this venue, especially for swimming and diving events.

2. Aquatics Centre

This venue was completed in February 2020. It’s inauguration got cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was built for around 56.7 billion yen i.e., ($516 billion). The most interesting feature of this venue is a 50m movable wall which further is divided intoย  two 25m pools with an adjustable depth.

The Japanese authorities are hoping to get enough opportunities during summer from this venue as they are planning to attract almost 1 million users per year. They are also going to conduct swimming competitions for both adults and children.

3. Tokyo Gate Bridge

This venue is one of the most beautiful venues as it is located on an artificial island. This is also near the Sea Forest Waterway, which is a 2km long basin and is also protected from the sea by a dam. This venue will be used for rowing competitions.

This venues holds a capacity of 24,000 spectators, which would be reduced in future to 2,000 as a total of 30 canoeing and rowing competitions would be held per year.

4. Ariake Arenaย 

This venue is going to hold Volleyball and Paralympic Basketball Olympic matches. This venue holds the seating capacity of 15,000.

This venue have solar panels attached on their roofs so as to prevent the reflection of sun for the venue itself as well as the nearby flats. These panels and geothermal pumps will helps to reduce the CO2 emissions. In future, this venue will also be used for other sporting matches and concerts.

5. Martial Arts Arena

This venue was built in 1964. It was first used for Judo. The roof of this venue is quite similar to that of Mount Fuji. This venue is going to host Karate events. After the 1964 Olympics, this venue became a concert ground and in 1966, the popular band “Beatles” held their first concert in the country.
