Top Record Created In India Women’s 100m Of All Time

The Athletics Federation of India  (AFI)usually maintains the record such as India 100m record in women’s race

These rankings are done on the basis of track races being conducted between 200 to 1,000m and are marked on 400m unbanked tracks, both banked and unbanked.

So, let’s have a look at some of the Indian female athletes who made records in the 100m race.

Top record in India 100m women’s race 

1.  Dutee Chand

Chand is an Indian sprinter and is also currently the national champion for Women’s 100m. She became the first Indian female athlete to have won a gold medal in 100m race at a global level. She became the third female athlete to qualify for the women’s 100m race for the Summer Olympics Games.

She participated in the preliminary round for the 2016 Summer Olympics, but was unable to qualify for the next round. During the 2018 Asian Games, she had won a silver medal for the women’s 100m race, which was held in Jakarta.

This was the first medal in the country in the women’s 100m race ever since 1988. During the 2019 Universiade, she became the first female athlete, to have won a gold medal, completing the 100m race in 11.32 seconds.

2. Rachita Mistry

Mistry is an Indian sprinter. During the 2000 National Circuit Athletic Meet, she completed the 100m race in 11.38 seconds. Her best timing for completing the 100m race is 11.26 seconds, in Bangalore, in 2001and she also broke PT Usha’s record for completing the 100m race in 11.39 seconds.

3. P.T. Usha

Usha is a retired Indian sprinter. She is also called as the “Queen of Indian track and field.” During a senior inter-state meet in Bangalore in 1981, she created a record of completing 100m race in 11.8 seconds. During the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games, She had won a silver medal in 100m race by completing it in 11.95 seconds.

4. Saraswati Saha

Saha is a retired Indian sprinter. She participated in All India Open National Championships for 100m race in 2000, 2002 and 2003. During the 2000 Asian Championships, which was held in Jakarta, she had won a silver medal for 100m race.
