Top Gun Maverick Release Date
The successful action-drama movie, which has already premiered in theatres, will now be available for OTT release. Amazon Prime Video one of the biggest OTT streaming platforms have announced the release date for Top Gun: Maverick.
The popular OTT platform have confirmed August 24 as the official release date for Top Gun: Maverick at 12:00am. Following the release, Top Gun: Maverick will be available for rent on the streaming platform.
The streaming giant announced the news through its social media account:
“nonstop suspense, action, and drama coming your way. Top Gun: Maverick available on #PrimeVideoStore, in 3 days!”.
The poster also mentions the available languages, namely – English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

As of now, Top Gun: Maverick has garnered around $1.4 billion at the global box office. It is the second pandemic-era film to achieve this landmark feat after Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the US alone, it has grossed over 623.8 million USD, becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time in the US.

Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to the 1986 release Top Gun. Joseph Kosinski is the director and stars Tom Cruise who reprises his role of Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell from the original movie.
The movie boasts of a great supporting cast featuring the likes of Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Lewis Pullman, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer.
The action-drama movie is set over 30 years after the initial events of the first Top Gun movie. In the movie, Maverick (Tom Cruise) trains a group of Top Gun graduates, including Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw (Teller) for a specialized mission.
Rooster portrays the son of Maverick’s late wingman Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw depicted by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 film.
Interestingly, the new sequel much like the original makes no mention of the enemy force. Kosinski stated that this is in line with the first film.
Top Gun: Maverick is one of the highest-grossing films of 2022 at the global box office ever since its release. Along with the movie, Jurassic World Dominion, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Minions: The Rise of Gru, and The Batman make up the top five for 2022. With the OTT release date now confirmed, the movie will no doubt achieve further success.
