Experium Eco Park, which spans more than 160 acres, will be turned into a riotous arena of red with thousands of tomatoes waiting to be thrown. However, Toma Terra is more than simply a place for tomato fights. The festival, which combines international influence with a regional twist, will include live music, dancing acts, and designated recreational areas.
The first-ever Tomatino festival in India, called Toma Terra, is scheduled to take place at Experium Eco Park in Hyderabad on May 11. Thousands of tomatoes are already being prepared for the spectacular tomato fights that will take place during this festival.
What will be done with Toma Terra festival tomatoes?
Environmental responsibility has also been addressed seriously by the organizers. According to Telangana Today, all of the tomato waste produced would be turned into organic manure and used to improve the ground where the celebration takes place. This action seems to be intended to avoid objections like to those that were directed at a scheduled Tomatina-style event in India in 2013, which was cancelled due to criticism around food waste.
La Tomatina’s cultural phenomenon acquired popularity in India with its appearance in the 2011 blockbuster “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.” Following the release of the film, the festival has aroused interest and a demand for immersive, unusual experiences among young Indians.
Hyderabad is now realizing that dream with Toma Terra, offering muddy enjoyment with a message of sustainability.
