The time-travelling anime may not have been as “hard-hitting” as some of the other films on the schedule. However, the Toman Gang is a group of fighters who know how to handle themselves. On September 18, Tokyo Revengers’ first season came to an end. The anime was then renewed in December, just a few months later.

The highly awaited second season of Tokyo Revengers will premiere in January 2023, according to a brand-new trailer for the “Christmas Showdown” arc that was recently published online. Here’s everything fans need to know.

Tokyo Revengers Makes No Hesitation To Share Season 2 Production Information.

Tokyo Revengers season 2 was unveiled at the Jump Festa 2022 event. It was reported that the Christmas Conflict Arc was already in production, so fans thankfully didn’t have to wait long for the announcement of the renewal.

Thanks to the show’s global popularity and the accessibility of the manga series’ original source material, few fans were overly startled by the announcement of Tokyo Revengers Season 2. Despite the fact that they were happy to have the show’s return officially confirmed.

The Show Gained An Amazing Response From Critics And Viewers

It’s not particularly difficult to discover how well-liked Toman is all over the world. The fact that Crunchyroll doesn’t publicly disclose its audience figures for simulcast titles. Tokyo Revengers season 1 received ratings from more than 561,000 viewers, resulting in an amazing (and well-deserved) 8.07/10 rating.

Additionally, stellar ratings and reviews can be found on a plethora of other user-based rating websites. The rating for Tokyo Revengers goes as high as 8.1/10 on IMDB, 4.8/5 on Crunchyroll, and 4.2/5 on AnimePlanet.

The Availability Of The Original Source Material Is An Issue.

Season 1 only covered a portion of Ken Wakui’s original manga series in episode 24 of season 1, which was adapted up to volume 8, chapter 73. The good news for fans is that, as of November 2023, 29 volumes with 260 chapters had been published in Japan. Consequently, there should be enough source material for at least two more anime seasons!

Interestingly, prior to the official announcement, online rumours that Tokyo Revengers season 2 was already in production were spreading. This came as a result of Tatsuhisa Suzuki’s talent management agency telling Yahoo News Japan that “production of the second season of the anime has already started.” Tatsuhisa Suzuki is the voice actor for Draken.

Since that interview, meanwhile, it has emerged that Suzuki would be replaced by Masaya Fukunishi due to a deterioration in his health and claims that he had an extramarital liaison with a female colleague.

Season 2 Of Tokyo Revengers Debuts In January 2023.

All Tokyo Revengers fans were pleased to hear that the Christmas Conflict Arc was being adapted. However, a season 2 release date was sadly not announced at the December Jump Festa event. The second season of the popular anime series will premiere in January 2023. This was announced in a brand new teaser trailer that was released online in early November.

Following confirmation of an expanded collaboration agreement between Disney and Kodansha. Season 2 will also stream exclusively on the Disney Plus platform, not Crunchyroll. Fans can anticipate that the first episode of season 2 will air on Disney Plus on either January 1 or January 8.
