Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra finished #1 in the Men’s Javelin Throw Group A to make his way into the final at Tokyo Olympics 2021, know its live streaming and timing
The track and field athlete from Panipat, who also serves as the Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army, topped the Men’s Javelin Throw Group A and qualified for the final. He is the first Indian athlete to finish on top of the qualification round, let alone enter an Olympic final.

The 23-year-old Neeraj Chopra hurled the javelin at a distance of 86.65m in his first attempt only, going way past the automatic qualification of 83.50m which only six men were able to cross. He finished at number one, followed by Germany’s world leader Johannes Vetter (85.64m) and Finland’s Lassi Etelätalo (84.50m). The Men’s Javelin Throw Final will take place on Saturday, 7th August, 2021 at 4.30pm IST.

Meanwhile, Indian silver medallist Shivpal Singh, who has a personal best of 86.23m, fell short of 10m as he finished #12 in Group B, failing to qualify. However, his group was topped by Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem (85.16m) who, just like Chopra, is the first athlete entering an Olympic final from his country.
