What in the world is the spa water controversy on TikTok?
To make the Spa Water, TikTokers mix water, lime juice, and sugar with chunks of fruit and cucumber. Although the water-based beverage is highly well-liked, some people think it is debatable.
A content creator named Gracie Norton produced the Spa Water video series, which she then shared on TikTok. Prior to her TikTok ban for receiving negative feedback from many viewers, Gracie had more than 549K followers and 5.8M likes on her videos.

Gracie prepared the drink called “spa water” for the TikTok video that went viral and claimed it was her invention.
She had no knowledge that what she had made was a popular soft Latin beverage known as agua fresca, which translates to “cold water” in Spanish. Agua Fresca is a popular non-alcoholic fruity beverage that is enjoyed worldwide.
In a statement, she admitted, “I recently shot a spa water series that I labelled erroneously. Agua Fresca is the correct name for this beverage, and it has Latin origins. Many of you have told me that removing the films entirely would make you feel the most at ease, therefore I have taken that action.
The 24-year-old online sensation continued, “Most of my work celebrates the various ways we can offer our bodies love by attempting new dishes, and I am conscious that I must keep learning about the history of those recipes. I truly apologise to everyone I hurt, including the Latino community.”
