The Lord asks Haochen if he desires to select one additional teammate by forsaking all other awards. He continues by clarifying to Haochen that if he wins one of the top 3 spots, he will get a special Ling Gong that will allow him to instantly access the sixth realm. Haochen responds without hesitation, saying that his group is more valuable than any prizes. Hence, the Lord orders him to claim the title first before making any other judgments. He then chooses Lin as his first partner, which surprises Lin.
Cai Er is upset by Haochen’s choice at the same time, and her powers start acting strangely. Cai Er’s strengths grow uncontrollably as Haochen officially reveals his decision to pick her as his second comrade. Cai Er finds herself unable to control her powers and all of a sudden she begins to hear a voice in her head. Despite his promise that he would always be by her side and watch over her, Haochen has now betrayed her. As Cai Er heard these words, his spiritual abilities erupted. Haochen intends on getting close to her but is stopped by Cai Er’s spiritual strength.
