The top teams from the National League will play in the United States for the first time in a tournament where the winner will get a $1 million prize.
The 32-team, 7-a-side Soccer Tournament will be held in Cory, North Carolina, from June 1st to June 4th, 2023. Wrexham has been invited to take part because of the success of the Disney+ documentary “Welcome to Wrexham.”

The Soccer Tournament, a $1 million, winner-takes-all 7v7 world championship, said recently that Wrexham AFC will be one of their 32 teams. Wrexham is coming to the United States for the first time in Club history to compete in TST. From June 1–4, 2023, the first 32-team event will take place in Cary, North Carolina, with Wrexham as one of the teams.
Wrexham is the ninth team in TST’s 32-team field that has been made public. They join Team Dempsey, which is led by former U.S. Men’s National Team star Clint Dempsey, popular British football and esports club Hashtag United, historic Liga MX side Club Necaxa, and US Women, which is led by former U.S. Women’s National Team players Heather O’Reilly.

What is the Wrexham football club?
Wrexham is the oldest football club in Wales and the third oldest football club in the world. It was founded in 1864. Wrexham has been around for 159 years and has won 23 Welsh Cups. This is more than any other team in Wales.
Wrexham is currently in first place in the National League, which is the fifth level of the English football league. There is a chance that they will be promoted to EFL League Two. They are also the only non-League team left in the FA Cup’s Round of 32, which started with 732 teams.
Wrexham became well-known in the US after Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club in 2020 and announced plans to make a TV show about the team and community. After the first season of Wrexham aired in 2022, it got great reviews, and the club’s social media following and merchandise sales went through the roof.
