The Good Bad Mother ending explained and is it happy or sad

The Good Bad Mother is finally coming to an end with a very tightly written ending.

After a seven-week run, viewers were quite happy with Young Soon and Kang Ho’s relationship.

The Good Bad Mother ending explained and is the story happy or sad

How Does Kang Ho Get Justice?

A little more than three decades ago, Choi Hae Sik was murdered by Song Woobyeok. The protests were against Song Woobyeok’s unjustly burning down Choi Hae Sik’s farm, but the latter had bought off all the witnesses, so Hae Sik had no chance of succeeding. When Song Woobyeok saw Hae Sik’s relentlessness, he murdered him, and Oh Tae Soo, the prosecutor who was in cahoots with Woobyeok at the time, helped him cover it up.

Choi Kang Ho and Young Soon had begun a new life together, and she wanted him to succeed as a prosecutor.

Kang Ho may or may not have been angry with her mom for being harsh with him, but The Good Bad Mother series claims that he recognised her motivations and actively sought to exploit his position to exact revenge on Oh Tae Soo and Song Woobyeok. He continued to gather evidence against them by pretending to be someone who wished to be in their good books. But Oh Tae Soo couldn’t stand Kang Ho dating his daughter and set up a plan.

Oh Tae Soo had asked Kang Ho to murder the woman he had an affair with and her child in order to run for president. He was unaware that Kang Ho had been working with them to gather proof the entire time.

After receiving the order, Kang Ho pretends to kill the mother and her child while ensuring that they make it to a secure location. The woman was followed into the sea by Oh Tae Soo’s men, so she jumped into the water to avoid being killed. As of now, Kang Ho is suspected of the murder of Oh Tae Soo’s daughter since there are photographs of him pushing the car into the sea with them.

He arranged for Ha Young to overdose Kang Ho and then kill him by telling her that the illegitimate family was Kang Ho’s. Ha Young agrees to it, but Kang Ho’s memory of his earlier years is erased rather than him being killed in the accident.

While this allows him and Young Soon a chance to start over in their love, it also significantly delays Kang Ho’s objectives.

But now that he has regained his memory, he must take revenge.

The Good Bad Mother Episode 13

He approached Oh Tae Soo in episode 13, even though he was aware of the risk he was taking. Kang Ho informed Oh Tae Soo that he intended to arrest Song Woobyeok by encouraging him to attack the man and then bring up his prior crimes in court.

Oh Tae Soo was required to testify against Song Woobyeok to support the case so that Oh Tae Soo could claim his innocence while dealing with their long association. It would have given Kang Ho’s case legitimacy, and ultimately Soo agreed to Kango Ho as Ha Young was with him.

Kang Ho received a call from one of the men Song Woobyeok wanted to be assassinated, pleading with him to flee for his life, but the latter persuaded him to do something. He forced him to antagonise Woobyeok so that he would act violently, and Kang Ho took advantage of the situation to take him into custody. Jou Ri Hamlet is in court to hear Kang Ho’s arguments.

Kang Ho very deftly shifts the focus of the discussion from Song Woobyeok’s reasons for the assault to his prior criminal activities. He also adds that Hwang Soo Hyun was his secretary, and she likely had knowledge of his activities.

Ha Young makes her appearance and admits that her dad was the one who killed Hwang Soo Hyun and her child, as Oh Tae Soo enters the room as a witness and testifies against Song Woobyeok. The complete truth regarding Oh Tae Soo’s involvement with Song Woobyeok in the murder of Kang Ho’s father 35 years ago is revealed to the court when Oh Tae Soo attempts to claim that her statements are worthless due to her mental illness.

What Happens To Young Soon at the End?

Kang Ho introduces Hwang Soo Hyun’s son to the court. A DNA test will disclose the whole truth, and Oh Tae Soo and Song Woobyeok are out of the running. What Kang Ho set out to do has been accomplished.

He has obtained justice for his parents and is now free to live a moral life as a prosecutor. As for the people Kang Ho had imprisoned unjustly, he did so to protect them from Song Woobyeok’s hitmen. Kang Ho’s name has now been cleared of all corruption after he dealt with the two villains.

Back in Jou Ri, Young Soon is still sick but is finally happy and at peace. She thanks all the villagers for a happy life as she reminisces. That night, Young Soon died peacefully. She had a challenging life, but a peaceful death. At her funeral, as Kang Ho grieves for her as she taught him in the past, her phone rings. Her ringtone of the song “One should always be happy” reminds everyone of her motto.

Life returns to normal as the village gradually progresses, with a few surprises thrown in. Sam Sik is still a skilled burglar, but he now only sees Ha Young. He frequently visits her in jail, where she is serving a two-year sentence.

Ha Young may have suffered a great deal of loss, but at least she has made a friend. Mi Joo’s mother, Gum Ja, is reportedly seeing Hoon Ah. We weren’t expecting this because, prior to learning that Young Soon had a finite amount of time, we assumed he could be interested in her.

Ye Jin, on the other hand, has discovered a new crush.

The case of the village chief and his wife is the last one. It turned out that the rumours were accurate and that she was, in fact, a yakuza’s daughter. She never showed her face during the entire run of The Good Bad Mother, but now that she is leaving her husband to return to her father, she does so. However, she discovers her pregnancy at the last minute and decides to remain with her husband.

The ending celebrates Kang Ho and Mi Joo’s wedding and long wait. Kang Ho discovers a letter left behind for him by his mother. In the letter, she writes that, given another chance, she would like to be the kind of mother who loves him more.

Final Review of the Good Bad Mother

A fundamental component of Kang Ho and Young Soon’s relationship—their love for him when he was a child—was left out of The Good Bad Mother, despite its name and themes. This is a hill we are willing to die on.

The Good Bad Mother misses a critical aspect of Kang Ho and Young Soon’s relationship, namely their love when he was a child, despite its name and content. The narrative required us to see only Young Soon’s tough side during Kang Ho’s childhood, but there had to have been more for Kang Ho to love her and ignore his other feelings. There was no need to leave the viewer’s imagination to fill in that part of their relationship. Apart from that, it’s worth the hype.
