She discovers some soldiers gathering the dead foxes with the intent of making money from them, so she confronts them, only to scare the soldiers, who don’t care what Chi Yan says. Chi Yan continues onward, eventually arriving at the location where she had hoped to see the source of this disaster, but the environment gives her an uneasy sense.
