Leah Williamson and Keira Walsh, both members of Mead’s England squad, have been named to the 14-player shortlist for their contributions to the Lionesses’ Euro 2022 victory. Walsh is one of three nominees from Barcelona, along with Putellas and Aitana Bonmati.
After defending her Ballon d’Or title and having a standout 2021–22 season in which she led Barcelona to the league title, the Copa de la Reina trophy, and the Champions League final, Putellas is the front-runner for this award as well.
