The Basketball Tournament is finally here, that kicked off on 16th July 2022, this is the ninth edition of the tournament. The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is a single-elimination tournament played each summer in the United States.
The tournament was founded by Jonathan Mugar in the year 2014. Since 2016, the tournament is being held on a 64-team field. In 2019, the 64 teams were divided into eight regions, with each winner advancing to the championship venue.

The 2022 event will be an eight-region format, with the eight regional winners advancing to what TBT organizers call ‘‘Championship Weekʼʼ, with quarterfinals at two sites followed by semifinals and the final at the championship venue.
Teams taking part in the tournament are fully packed with former NBA players and college stars all competing to get their hands on the massive prize money. All the teams, rosters, results and live score can be found here.

The prize set for the winning team of The Basketball Tournament is $1 Million. The whole amount is given to the winning team, the runner-up of the tournament gets no prize money as it is considered to be a last place in the tournament.
Rosters range from seven players to 12 players, so the amount of money each player makes completely depends on the number of players on the roster.
The team participating in the tournament are also allowed to donate the money to a charity event and some teams even honour certain causes with their team names such as Sideline Cancer, Defeat Diabetes and Team Challenge ALS, to name a few.

The tournament has already begun on 16th July, and is being live broadcast on ESPN Network. The tournament can also be live streamed on Sling Tv, the official streaming partner of TBT.
