2024 Thailand Masters latest results, second-round schedule, date, venue, results, score, and Indian shuttlers’ performance
On Wednesday, Kidambi Srikanth qualified for the second-round of the Thailand Masters 2024 by defeating Wang Tzu Wei. Currently ranked 24th in the BWF badminton world rankings, Srikanth faced a challenging match against the 26th-ranked Wang Tzu Wei. However, he managed to secure a 22-20, 20-19 victory after a 45-minute contest.
In his next tie, Srikanth will compete against Mithun Manjunath, another Indian badminton player who comfortably won his opening match against Jason Gunawan from Hong Kong China. Unfortunately, Kiran George faced an early exit from the tournament as he had to retire midway through his match against the People’s Republic of China’s Lei Lan Xi.
In women’s singles, Malvika Bansod and Ashmita Chaliha both advanced to the second round. Malvika won against Ines Lucia Castillo Salazar from Peru with a score of 22-20, 21-18. Meanwhile, Ashmita achieved a straight-game victory over Malaysian shuttler Wong Ling Ching with a score of 21-10, 21-16. Malvika’s opponent in the round of 16 will be Busanan Ongbamrungphan, who progressed by defeating India’s Imad Farooqui Samiya with a score of 21-14, 21-18.
