The scam which began in 2017 saw the previous players submit fraudulent claims to get reimbursed under the supplemental coverage plan. Medical and dental procedures which had never taken place were fabricated with prosecutors having travel records, emails and GPS data which proved that the players were never present at the hospitals and clinics they claimed to be getting treated at.
