For those unfamiliar with betting odds, a successful $100 wager on MacDonald would yield a $300 profit. While MacDonald leads the odds, it’s important to note that a +300 implies a 25 percent chance of him securing the Titans’ head coaching position.
The list comprises top coaching candidates in the upcoming cycle, including Belichick, who has yet to part ways with the Patriots. With the Titans’ roster facing uncertainty, the choice of the new head coach is eagerly anticipated, especially considering Vrabel’s expected swift landing in another coaching role.
In an interview with controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, she revealed that there was consideration given to trading the coach instead of firing him.
However, due to league rules and the nature of coaching contracts, trading Vrabel was not a feasible option. Strunk explained that pursuing a trade might have delayed the process by three weeks, and she was unwilling to risk missing out on a preferred coaching candidate.
Vrabel, 48, led the Titans to four consecutive winning seasons since his arrival in 2018, but the team struggled in the past two seasons, finishing with multiple games below .500. Michael George Vrabel, born on August 14, 1975, is a former linebacker turned American football coach.
He played college football at Ohio State and had a successful playing career, including three Super Bowl championships with the New England Patriots. After retiring in 2010, Vrabel transitioned to coaching, eventually becoming the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023.
