Kasinadhuni Viswanath was a well-known Indian film director, screenwriter, and actor. He has been in the news because he passed away recently at the age of 92.

He was fondly called Kalatapasvi. He was born on March 19, 1930, in Pedapulivarru, Madras Presidency, British India (now in Andhra Pradesh, India). His father’s name is Kasinadhuni Subramanyam, and his mother’s name is Kasinadhuni Saraswathy.

He did his schooling at Guntur Hindu College. Later, he earned a BSc degree from Andhra Christian College of Andhra University. He also got his honorary doctorate from Potti Sreeramullu Telugu University.

He was married, and his wife’s name is Kasinadhuni Jayalakshmi. They are also parents of three children: Padmavathi Viswanath, Nagendranath Viswanath, and Ravindranath Viswanath.

He died on February 2, 2023, in Hyderabad. He died at the age of 92. K Viswanath was born on 19 February 1930 in Peddapulivarru, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India.

His career

Kasinadhuni Viswanath began working in the field of audiography. After a brief spell working as a sound engineer, he started his filmmaking career working with director Adurthi Subba Rao. He then went on to serve as an assistant director for the Telugu movie Pathala Bhairavi in 1951.

He made his directorial debut with the 1965 film Aatma Gowravam, for which he later won the state Nandi award. “Sankarabharanam,” “Swathi Muthyam,” “Sagara Sangamam,” “Sankeertana,” and “Sirivennela” are a few of his well-known creations.

For his work in the Indian film industry, he has received several honors, including five National Film Awards and numerous state Nandi Awards.
