Team India Only Allowed To Eat Halal Certified Meat As Part Of New Food Menu
However, they aren’t the only changes which have been undertaken in Indian cricket. SportsTak has reported that the Indian cricket team has been issued a new diet plan, one which has been ingrained with the purpose of ensuring cricketers are able to take better care of their body and mantain fitness levels at all time.
The new dietary food menu sees pork and beef banned in any form with the only kind of meat allowed needing to be halal certified. While the new diet is said to have been tailored keeping in mind the bubble players play in owing to the COVID-19 pandemic which curtails their ability to stay fit, the Halal guideline as sparked massive controversy.
The process of Halal makes it an explicit religiously discriminatory practice much like untouchability with it only allowed to be performed by a Muslim man. Non-Muslims are denied employment at a Halal firm which is intrinsically an Islamic practice with even the labeling of food to be done by a Muslim.
The Department of Halal Certification of the European Union goes onto state, “Slaughtering must be done by a sane adult Muslim. Animals slaughtered by a Non-Muslim will not be Halal. The name of Allah must be invoked at the time of slaughtering by saying: Bismillah Allahu Akbar. If at the time of slaughtering the name of anyone else other than Allah is invoked.
