The TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2023 is all set for this year’s edition with the race date now confirmed, alongside other details like race route, race categories, previous year results, registration details, and prize money

The World 10K Bengaluru 2023 is a part of the World Athletics Gold Label Race event and the race will begin from the iconic Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

The prestigious World 10K Bengaluru road race event is an annual, which initially began in 2008. Ever since its inception, only the 2020 and 2021 event were cancelled due to COVID-19.

World 10K Bengaluru 2023 date confirmed

The World 10K Bengaluru 2023, will reportedly take place on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

World 10K Bengaluru 2023 race route

The World 10K Bengaluru 2023 is an elite-level race, currently in its 15th edition. The race will begin its course from the iconic Sree Kanteerava Stadium and go through Bengaluru’s most iconic locations. These locations include Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park and the famous Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The World 10K Bengaluru 2023 will feature some of the top athletes from around the world, alongside many amateurs.

Race categories

Besides the flagship 10,000 metres race, the World 10K Bengaluru 2023 will feature various race categories. The different race categories are listed below:

  • Majja Run (5.1km)
  • Senior Citizen Run
  • Champions with Disability (4.2km)

Moreover, in order to encourage women’s participation, the organisers have exclusively reserved a limited number of running routes for women. These races will be shorter than the other races.

Moreover, besides the on-ground races, the World 10K Bengaluru 2023 will also feature virtual app-based runs again this year too. The virtual runs will take place through the TCS World 10K app.

World 10K Bengaluru 2022 results

Last year’s, despite the rain affecting the World 10K Bengaluru it was a success. Parul Chaudhary (34:38) won the Indian women’s elite race, while Abhishek Pal (30:05) won the men’s elite races.

Meanwhile, Kenya’s Nicholas Kipkorir Kimeli (27:38) and fellow compatriot Irene Cheptai (30:35) won the men’s and women’s overall titles, respectively. Both runners also set new course records.

Registration details

The Registration process for the World 10K Bengaluru 2023 officially started on March 1. Interested participants can simply go to the official website and click on the registration link on the homepage.

It is also one of the richest races with a total prize pot of US$170,000 and race winners will receive over $21,000.
