A shocking video of the Jaguar SUV of Tathya Patel ramming into onlookers at the scene of the accident claimed nine lives, including a police constable

Several people were gathered around the accident spot where a truck and Thar crashed earlier. The crash also injured 13 people severely, along with the deceased.

The driver who killed nine people on Thursday morning on a flyover close to an ISKCON temple on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (SG) Highway in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has been detained by police. He was identified as Tathya Patel.

The police confirmed that Tathya was running the Jaguar at 160 km/h. 

Earlier, there had been another collision involving a Thar and a dumper, which caused a crowd to gather there. At that point, a speeding Jaguar slammed into the scene of the accident, crushing the victims.

According to reports, the second tragedy claimed the lives of two police officers and a home guard jawan who had hurried to the scene following the initial accident.

According to inspector KY Vyas of the Satellite police station, “A truck and a Thar crashed at the ISKCON Bridge on the SG Highway at one in the morning. Local traffic police and a Home Guard jawan arrived at the scene to control traffic and deal with the issue after learning about the collision. Many onlookers gathered nearby as well.”

According to a representative of the SG Highway-2 traffic police station, none of the individuals involved in the first accident were hurt.

The Jaguar car’s driver also suffered injuries after killing nine people on the spot. 

CM Of Gujarat Declares Aid

The chief minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, provided financial aid of Rs. 4 lakhs for the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured. He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the people injured or killed in the accident. Additionally, Mr Patel prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic West, Ahmedabad, Nita Desaid said that as per the doctor’s advice, the police will soon arrest the driver after he receives treatment for his injuries.

The deceased were Ronak Vihalpara, 19, Kunalbhai Kodiya, 20, Akshar Patel, 21, and Niravbha Ramanuj, 22, all of Botad; Arman Vadhvaniya, 19, and Ali Kutchi, 21, both of Surendranagar; and Niravbha Ramanuj, 22, of Ahmedabad.
