2023 Tata Steel Chess Tournament schedule, date, time, venue, draw, & list of participants
One of the most prestigious tournaments on the chess calendar around the world is the Tata Steel Chess Tournament and it is known as the Wimbledon of Chess, which draws the top chess grandmasters from across the world, as well as thousands of amateur players, spectators at live events, & online viewers. The Tata Steel Chess Tournament will mark its 85th year in 2023. At 2023 Tata Steel Chess, eight of the top-20 players will be participating including in-form Magnus Carlsen and second-ranked Ding Liren.
It is scheduled that the tournament will run from 13th to 29th January 2023 at the Dorpshuis de Moriaan in Netherlands’ Wijk aan Zee. According to official schedule, the masters group featuring GMs will play against each other thirteen times starting on 14th January. Throughout the tournament, tempo of play will be 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for next 20 moves, and then 15 minutes for the remaining moves. For the players from Masters Group, rest days are scheduled on 23rd, 26th & 29th January respectively.
