Career Of Tarek Fatah
- He was a leftist student leader and a reporter for the Karachi Sun in 1970 and was jailed twice by military regimes.
- Later, he became an investigative journalist for Pakistan Television.
- In 1977, the Zia-ul Haq regime banned him from journalism and charged him with sedition.
- Fatah moved to Saudi Arabia, and in 1987, he settled in Canada.
- He became a member of Ontario’s New Democratic Party and worked on the staff of Premier Bob Rae.
- The weekly Toronto-based current affairs show “Muslim Chronicle,” focusing on the Muslim community, was hosted by him between 1996 and 2006.
- He shared his views against the introduction of Sharia Law after he founded the Muslim Canadian Congress in 2001.

Awards and Recognitions
Tarek Fatah was awarded the Helem and Stan Vine Canadian Book Award in Politics and History.
In 2007, he was included by Maclean’s magazine on a list of 50 Canadians who were “Canada’s most well-known and respected personalities.”
