Takahiro Sakurai’s Family And Education
Takahiro Sakurai is one of the eldest of three siblings and he was born to a family that owns a rice shop to Akio Nojima. When Takahiro was a child he became interested in voice acting after watching a television interview with a voice actor. Later on he completed his education at Okazaki Johsei High School and graduated from Yoyogi Animation Academy in Nagoya and 81 Acting Institute.
While his wife’s name is not known, she was an ex-voice actor with the two married for 20 years.
Takahiro Sakurai Professional Career And Achievements
After shifting from the training school Takahiro became a member of 81 Produce under the influence of Toshihiko Seki. Before his official debut Takahiro had already received work in radio dramas and other projects during his time at the training school.
But for a while after his debut there was a period of time when he was unable to find work even after auditioning. In 1999 when he was just 25 years old and wondering if he should quit voice acting he got regular roles in two Television anime namely Digimon Adventure and Sensual Phrase. In the same year he sang his first character song in his first starring movie named Gate Keepers.
On April of 22 in 2011 he achieved the “Male Character Voice Award” at Famitsu Awards 2010. In 2012 Takahiro won the “Overseas Fan’s Award” at the 6th Seiyu Awards. On October 25th in 2016 Sakurai stepped on the red carpet in the 27th Tokyo International Film Festival as John Paul in Genocidal Organ with Yuichi Nakamura as Clavis Shepherd. On October 25th in 2018 Sakurai attended the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival as Metofies in Godzilla: The Planet Eater with Mamoru Miyano as Haruo.

Takahiro Sakurai has been married to a former voice actress for almost 20 years which was not disclosed to the public until September 2022. On October 26th 2022 Shukan Bunshun reported that Sakurai had been having an extramarital affair with a writer from his radio show Genki Desu: Takahiro.
The two had been in a relationship for more than 10 years with them intending to marry. However prior to this the host had not been aware of Sakurai’s marital status until September in 2022.
